Frequently Asked Questions

When will the school open?

We plan to open for our first year in August 2025.

What ages are you accepting?

At this time, we will be offering enrollment for children in K4-2nd grade. We know this may be a deterrent to some families with older siblings and hope you will reach out with your specific circumstances so we can discuss accommodation. We have plans to expand and offer higher level grades as the children in our school age.

What is the process for enrollment?

We will offer information sessions in early 2025 to see the building and property and give more info about the admission process. There will be an enrollment application available to be completed. Following completion of that form, interviews will be scheduled with the prospective students and their families. We aim to ensure we align with each family in our values and commitment to your child’s success. We also will complete a brief test of your child’s knowledge in core academic areas in order to better gauge where they are at in their development and order/prepare their course material before the start of the academic year.

What is the cost of enrollment?

Annual tuition is $5,700 with options for discounts and payment plans. Please see our Tuition page for more info. We know how sizable this cost can feel to families, and we promise to make every dollar count. We aim to make this as affordable as possible without sacrificing the quality of education and the farm experience that makes Freedom Schoolhouse so unique.

After my child is admitted, when will tuition and fees be due?

There will be a non-refundable $300 registration and book fee due upon admission. This allows us to have a final count of students while we make important decisions and purchase curriculum and supplies prior to the start of term. After that, the start dates of tuition payments will be based upon the plan you select. There will be a 12-month plan that starts June 2025 and a 10-month plan that starts August 2025. If you opt to take advantage of the pay-upfront discount, that sum will be due prior to the first day of school.

Can I volunteer or make a donation?

We would love for people in our community and surrounding areas to get involved! We value unique skill sets and knowledge that incorporate our love of hands-on learning and farm experiences. Additionally, if you believe in this mission and feel led to make a contribution to Freedom Schoolhouse, please reach out to us at freedomschoolhouse2025@gmail.com to set up a time to meet. Donations can also be made online by clicking the "Make a Donation" button at the top of the page.

What will the school calendar look like?

We will operate with a 4-day school week. We firmly believe the most important influence in a child’s life is you! We value your time and know the significance of interacting with your child more than a couple of hours after work or school before having to go to bed for the night. We will meet Monday-Thursday in person from 9am to 2pm, with Friday being a remote learning day. We encourage families to sit and learn together with the material provided by your child’s teachers. We will send home workbooks and worksheets. There will be no E-learning or virtual learning involved. The workbooks will be very simple to follow, they assist parents in presenting material to the child. We know from homeschool experience that most academic work can be completed in a pretty short time frame, leaving the rest of the day to your disposal! Enjoy the 3-day weekends that come with this schedule, allowing you to have your child in your home and making it easier to plan family outings and trips. Our school day will run from 9am-2pm. This will allow parents to make drop-offs for any siblings at other schools prior to starting our day at Freedom Schoolhouse. Additionally, a 2pm dismissal allows an extended afternoon for family activities or free time. There will be no homework sent home outside of remote learning materials for Friday.

How many students will attend?

No more than 25 students will be admitted in the first year.

Is there a way for homeschool students to be involved?

We hope so! We have a goal to create unique experiences and opportunities for local homeschool families to come and join us. Stay tuned!
